Jack Meyer | Author
Jack was introduced to thrillers when Tom Clancy's The Hunt for Red October was published. However, for most of his life, he was a reader rather than an author. During the 2000 Presidential election as he watched TV coverage of the Florida recount with 'dimpled chads' and 'hanging chads,' he thought an election conspiracy would be a great basis for a thriller. It wasn't until 2020 when he retired from his career, which included management positions in corporate America and small business ownership as well as a brief stint in ministry, that he sat down to write Wayward Patriot: Preserving the Vote.

He has plans for a fourth book and more and enjoys interacting with his readers about books and contemporary issues relating to politics.

He and his wife, Barbara, have three grown children and seven grandchildren and divide their time between Colorado Springs and Tucson, seeking to avoid the snow!

Entertaining Reads, Important Reads
Jack Meyer's books include all of the tension and plot-twists that you would expect from a good thriller. However they also include something many people don't expect. A heavy dose of reality.
The characters in his political thrillers are fictitious. However they are quite relatable and their surroundings and many of the issues they deal with are true-to-life. His first book delves into the 'perfect' voting system. His novella, In Defense of the
Grid, delves into the threat of an EMT attack and A Higher Betrayal explores drone warfare, artificial intelligence and a dose of the way things really work in Washington D.C.

While there is a political context to his writing, there is not a political agenda. Readers from both sides of the aisle enjoy Meyer's ability to develop his exciting tails of fiction inside the political morass without taking sides.
The Wayward Patriot
A Different Kind of Series
Most book series are developed around a character with special skills and a special mission. Jack's Wayward Patriot Series are thrillers, often with different characters. The common theme in the series is that most of his characters love their country and strive to make her better. However, this striving will reveal, in some individuals, a moral flaw. Some will step over the line of legality and even morality, justifying to themselves that their actions will be for the good of the nation. Of course, the results are catastrophic.
